One of the most requested features from our customers is live in Pulse: a unique ingest address for the emails worth keeping against your GPs and LPs. The recommended setup is a forwarding rule in your mail client that captures the manager domains you care about. For everything else, you can BCC the address or forward an email by hand when it's worth filing. Pulse attributes each captured email to the right manager automatically. It's plumbing every CRM eventually needs, and Pulse now has it.
How It Works
Each org gets its own ingest address from the new Email tab in Settings. An admin provisions it, turns it on, and emails reach Pulse three ways:
- A forwarding rule in your mail client that auto-forwards from the domains you care about (the recommended pattern).
- A manual BCC on outbound mail when you want a one-off captured.
- A manual forward of an inbound email already in your inbox.
Once an email arrives, Pulse checks every domain on the thread (sender, recipients, CC, BCC) and attributes it to any GP, fund, LP, placement agent, or service provider whose website domain matches. Free providers (gmail, outlook, hotmail) are skipped. One email can be attributed to several entities at once.
Setting Up the Forwarding Rule
In Outlook:
- Open File → Manage Rules & Alerts → New Rule and start from a blank rule.
- Pick Apply rule on messages I receive.
- Add a condition: with specific words in the sender's address, and list the domains you care about (e.g.
@gpdomain.com), or from people or public group for specific contacts. - Add an action: forward it to people or public group, paste your org's ingest address.
- Save and enable the rule. Repeat with messages I send if you want outbound coverage too.
In Gmail: Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create new filter. Add a From filter for the domains, then Forward it to the ingest address (the address has to be verified as a forwarder first).
Keep the rule scoped: only the domains and people you actually want in Pulse.
Where Captured Emails Show Up
- A new Inbox page at
/inboxlists every captured email with sender, subject snippet, attribution badges, and full To/CC/BCC fields. Search and filter the list, click a row for the full sanitized body, and add or remove attributions per row if the match is off. - Each GP, fund, LP, placement agent, and service provider page now has an Emails tab showing the messages attributed to that entity.
